現在の研究課題

光環境の変動に対し,光合成生物がどのように自らの光合成系を変化させて順化応答を示すか(Curr. Top. Plant Biol. Vol.1, 1999),その仕組みの遺伝子レベルでの解明を目指している。具体的には,遺伝子操作の容易なシアノバクテリアSynechocystis sp. PCC 6803から,強光下での光化学系2,系1複合体の量比調節に必須な遺伝子pmgAを初めて単離し,その機能解析を行った(photosynth. Res. Vol. 53, 1997;Plant Physiol. Vol. 117, 1998)。また,Synechocystis sp. PCC6803の全遺伝子を網羅したDNAマイクロアレイを用いて,強光順化時の遺伝子発現を経時的に調べた(Plant Cell Vol. 13, 2001)。今後はそれらの遺伝子発現の調節メカニズムを解析して行きたいと考えている。
